Trauma, Toni hase been appreciative to be involved in, amongst other areas of work, two distinct areas of trauma. The first working with Vietnam
veterans co-facilitating a 5 day live in program with veterans and their wives. The second area currently involves with is working with Forgotten
Australians and the impact institutional life and childhood trauma has had on them throughout their lives. Combat trauma and childhood trauma and
both very different and similar at the same time. The resulting impact on the aging adult is profound and weighs heavily on the outcomes for the
person post the trauma events. She has been able to both see and feel the impact that working in the trauma field can have on an individual worker
and the organisation that is supporting the worker. These experiences have not only allowed for continuous growth in her own group work but has
also led to an avid enthusiasm to try to understand the way people engage with others.
